@Raine-chan: Thank you so much! We tried not to use too much sound; we just wanted a little bit.

Why yes, I believe I will read this comic.

Is there a way to read this without the snazzy extra parts? My computer doesn't support the plug-in. Thanks. The thanks is not sarcasm.

@ddelphis: Sorry to say no D: We might someday have a way to make it without Flash, but at the current time, the flash plugin is required to read it. I'm really sorry about that!

I know for awhile my computer was broken and I could only use my phone's internet so I could never load any flash stuff. I'm so sorry about that. Thanks for trying anyway!

@ddelphis: If you have an iPod or iPhone, you can download an app called Puffin. It's a browser that actually supports Flash ^^ The free version's Flash only works for two weeks though, but the app is only two dollars or so if I remember correctly.
It doesn't solve your computer problem, however...

@ChibiSilverWings: In a webcomic called "Homestuck" by Andrew Hussie, there's a lot of Flash games and such, and a few of the more recent ones were made with HTML5 rather than Flash, and they're actually pretty good ^^ There were character portraits, dialogue boxes, background music, and background images (and then a bunch of other stuff too). There wasn't a "next" arrow, but it would be easy to put in, I assume. In any case, I believe HTML5 can do everything you're doing in Flash now. :D

@MistPower101: Yeah, I'm sure we could accomplish much of our functionality in HTML5, however, none of use are programmers. stkbayfield has been learning basic Action Script to put together the comics as of now, and hopefully we'll learn more tricks as we go.

Guess I have a whole bunch of homework to do. I seem to have a nack for picking this stuff up. The animation I did for the Ask Tyler blog I learned the night before I did it.

HTML5 may take a while. I'll look in to it and see if it is possible to do any of the magic interactivity we're planning.

PS: Thank TeamFourStar for that.

Coincidentally, I just started exploring the Ren'Py visual novel engine this week. That would be an ideal platform for this (and it requires no real programming skills to code.) Perfect for the interactive stuff too.

@HABE: I've worked with Ren'Py before (earlier this month, actually), and it is a wonderful engine. We're planning to do more with it later, but then we can't post it in small increments like we can on a website.

The first page.
I remember when I first clicked on this link. It wasn't too long ago...but I saw it on the Homestuck ads, fearfully I clicked on it.

I instantly fell in love. With the characters and all.

Nice work
Good work on this. One thing that I would like is auto-play, instead of mouse clicking each time.

burningtyger, October 27th, 2013, 8:08 pm     Reply

@jseph1234: this way it keeps you engaged.

ArEnGee (Guest), August 13th, 2016, 10:38 pm     Reply

@burningtyger: That, and auto-scrolling locks you in to one speed. There's auto-scrolling text elsewhere in the comic that's painfully slow.

Don't mind if I do.
Webcomic? By some old friends? Don't mind if I do.

Time to read it again!~
MorphE is such a good webcomic, I CAN'T HELP IT, TIME TO READ IT AGAIN! What is this the fourth time?
