Train of Thought:

“Yes! She’s doing it!
Huh, Malloy’s smile is creeping me out …
Ugh, Asia, you are so slow.

So far we have been assuming the shipment was something Amical was a part of. However, if this is not true it opens up some... interesting possibilities.

A possible antagonist down the line.
The boxing people going after others... friends or family.

Sadly, it still makes Amical a bit insane as he did shoot several people, but I can understand why he did it (still think there would have been better ways).

I have also been assuming their memories were erased or blocked with Mind. I am not certain if another Mind mage could open up those hidden areas. If they were erased I doubt it. Hidden, then they might be able to peek in. The question is will Asia also remember.

@Mindsword2: I concur, but there are more points to consider. I recall that there were numerous spectators at the fights, and Amical was trying to keep things interesting for them. I also recall Amical strongly implying that the fights were a regularly scheduled annual event that he organizes. That makes me highly suspicious of any claim that Amical was not connected with the kidnapping.

lilmissbunnybitch, February 15th, 2014, 3:54 pm     Reply is obvious that amical is connected to the kidnapping but maybe his relationship with the kidnappers is shaky? i still want to know why they were all jacked up coming out of the crates...

The memories of sleepers can be permanently erased. The only way to recover those kinds of memories would be to enter the person's Oneiros and see if fragments of them are still there. It's still not guaranteed.

Ooooo the suspense! I must find out what Malloy has found out...

@Don Quixotes: It'll have to wait. It's not like you can read his mind.. :P
but I'm glad to see Malloy being fairly supportive. I DO hope at some point to get some glimpses of our own into the characters' pasts — inside the story, I mean. We've had a few glimpses in supplemental material, but not directly in Morphϵ so far. (I'm assuming the last figure in the title is in fact lunate Epsilon.)

@burningtyger: We will at least mention the pasts of all the mains and some of the side characters, though some will be more talked about than others. We're hoping to share side material later that talks about each more in-depthly if people are interested in that sort of thing later on in the comic.

We have a lot of background built up, but it's a concern to not shove too much side detail into the main story, I think too much detail can become clutter. We try to keep it as something that we keep an eye on unless it helps build, we wouldn't want to distract too much from the main stuff.

Yeah, the "ϵ" at the end is the Greek letter, though you can spell it morphE if you'd like, we're not too picky! It's transliterated Greek anyway. It's to help you guys with pronunciation too! "ϵ" is pronounced like a short "eh" thus the "more-fay" rather than "more-fee" The word in gray is the actual Greek word, "μορφή" of which I personally use the "mu" "μ" as my sorta symbol for the comic. I have a scarf with it on there :)

Assuming that's not an "obi wan truth", I did not see that coming.

Nope! Sorry to correct one of the other authors, but the "E" at the end does not represent an epsilon. It's just to help with pronunciation. I named it and made the logo, so if anyone knows the right amount of over-analysis, it's me. She is however correct in saying that your Greek letter for this comic is "μ."

Epsilon is just a red herring.
