Definitely a love potion.

In Canon Mage, Mana comes down from above, not up from below. Hallows are described as usually being located in high places because of this.

@Strill: Agreed, yet it does note that some is lower than it should be. However, this also could be Amical lying (he messed up the origin story after all) or we could be looking at some oWoD stuff.

The again, how hard would it be to create such a place? If Amical is going through that much mana then he probably has enough power to pull local mana out however he wants. Water Tass would be rare as hell.

Ha, I knew it. Sort of.

@Strill: @Mindsword2: To settle any disputes let me say that in this comic we WILL be deviating from WoD canon. I won't say where exactly, but when we played our lovely ST had a policy of deviating from the books so that we wouldn't be able to just "know" things. It'll keep things exciting for you all I think!

We have no disrespect for the canon, it's a great system, but one of the things that makes it great is that it always encourages the ST to shift things to their liking and the books often offer suggestions rather than "laws". It encourages you to be creative with your world building.

That being said, this is not a place where we're deviating. I think this was a simple misunderstanding of Amical's wording. He said that it can seep into plants (which grow out of the ground) and minerals. Which is canon, the main MtAw book has an example of there being tass mushrooms. Perhaps it wasn't very clear, but he then says that it can "condense and drip right out of the air" so it's still coming from above :)

And in reference to oWoD, we actually WILL be including some oWoD stuff in our setting too. Though it might be slightly obscure stuff. You'll all have to wait and see. But I promise we will explain anything you need to know in the story when it's needed, we won't leave you in the dark. I feel like we've built a fun mix of a lot of the less popular settings and hopefully you guys will enjoy seeing what we include and change.

I just realized that Billy Thatcher sounds a lot like Bobby Fischer. I feel kind of stupid for just realizing this.

And people say comics don't teach you anything. Today I learned about a legendary chess player!
...I mean he was a bit of an ass, but damn good at chess.

@ChibiSilverWings: Um, that's LEY lines. @Strill@Mindsword2 Yes, Amical's choice of words was poor, but the idea is clear; Tass descends like rain and is absorbed with the water into plants and mineral structures. The White Wolf wiki mentions that Hallows not only have a strong allure for both Awakened and Sleepers, but that Sleepers are more likely to awaken in such places. It also says this:From the White Wolf Wiki: "Not all spots that evoke powerful sensations are currently Hallows, although many are, and many more have been in the past and have the potential to be again if they are properly reopened. " O_O Methinks Amical's found one such spot and that it's on the premises- or built into it.

@Don Quixotes: Ah yeah Fischer is SO fascinating and he really revolutionized the way the game was played. But yeah he was also... a really problematic guy. The whole story is pretty damn tragic, chess as a sport has so many interesting stories! If you want to see me ramble more than usual, put me on my chess fangirl mode.

Definitely some blurring here, as in the Handbook Tass is solid magic that can be "melted" into Mana, the liquid form.

Guest, June 11th, 2014, 11:35 pm     Reply

@burningtyger: False. Mana is the intangible form. Tass is the material form.

@Guest:Yeah, I got that now; apparently I misunderstood what i read in the intro. Chapter 2 clarified the distinctions you spoke of.
