This is a forewarning for all the lovely fans.

*We are going to be taking a week hiatus from April 17th-April 24th.*

For wedding recovery time, and hopefully a chance to spruce up our next segment. But hey, a full year we've never missed an update, and I'm very proud of the whole team for that. If you need some extra fun, we've had some extra content on the character ask blogs.

Find them here:

The general morphE blog, with some fanart, and other stuff related to the comic:

There's also the fairly healthy-sized tvtropes page (that anyone can feel free to add to if they're so inclined) and the DA group linked in the left side box, all those places have some content not in the main comic, and there's not much overlap between the content on each so, hopefully a few new things for you to see!

Billy is close, at least as far as my games are concerned. You can't keep them away without way too much work though. Best to either control them, bribe them, or avoid the ones that are getting insane.

Possession is when you need to do actual work. And here we thought magic would make our workload smaller.

The idea of bribing a Spirit to stay away seems like complete nonsense to me. You would have to offer it more than it could get from being around you, which is likely a hell of a lot of essence.

Furthermore, it's not that hard to keep Spirits away. Mundane abjuration rituals help, and if you have Spirit and Space you can create an impenetrable barrier against Spirits.

Moreover, Spirits do not get "insane". They simply focus on surviving.

@Strill: Oh, there are ways to bribe them. Better essence, etc. Had a player that went as much spirit as he could for full barter action. You'd be surprised at the number of ways he could get them to want to barter with him.

Yes that does keep them away, but that means I need to take Spirit. I tend to gravitate to Moros or Obrimos. If I'm going Obrimos, its cause I want to blow things up/make cool illusions. If I go Moros, then spirit is the weak arcana. Either way, I tend not to have spirit. Thus, I can usually ignore them.

Point. The ones messing with me in such a way that I need to deal with them are trying to survive, not insane. Either way, I try to avoid them.

This was a pretty good read!
Although I am curious, how did you submit flash files on Smackjeeves?

@ChibiSilverWings: Cool. I've been working on a battle theme with MorphE in mind; let me know if you'd like to listen.

@kcspice: Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it so far. You have to have a paid/premium comic to upload flash files :)

One of them is going to fail, this much is certain. My money is on Billy. Pride before the fall, and what not.

If we focus merely on protection against spirits, a starting Mastigos can do more than a starting Thyrsus, just give them Space 3 and Spirit 1
