There is a saying that I can't quite recall, but it is something on the lines of "the lesser evil is still evil." Amical could have used mind control, but not doing that doesn't make kidnapping and murder good. Amical has limits, but he is still a villain.

@Ethrenal: I'm not totally sure I'd call Amical a villain so far. He's definitely not "good," what with the casual murder and all, but he doesn't seem outright evil, either.

So far, I'd just label him "sociopath" and wait for further information.

why are people forgetting about this secondary thing called "HE KILLED PEOPLE IN A SHOW MUCH LIKE AN ARENA FOR THE AMUSEMENT OF OTHERS" thing about Amical?

@bdragon: Haven't forgotten it, but this is the WoD. Your allies are never going to be perfect and many of them will have done/will do horrible things in an instance.

As such, you have to figure out how the game is played. Amical has killed people, but there are good points here as he could have done a ton of worse things. It looks like Amical simply believes that humans don't matter and that mages do. On the evil scale, while that still makes him a monster, its not nearly as bad as some things they may have to face.

Personally, I'd be wary of him, but at least his objectives are fairly obvious and I can play by his rules and win. Good enough. And, given enough time, I can possibly even make him pay for the other deaths. No point in fighting now when I can't.

Of course Amical is evil, this is World of Darkness, evil had already won, goody two shoes are LOSERS.

Even players are villains or at least monsters in this setting, that's how things are. You just need to be careful and not cross the moral line.

Killing Sleepers (muggles) to force Awakening seems horrible to us readers, because we ourselves are Sleepers too.

However, Awakened humans are one of the few things in WoD that can and actually try to "repair" the world, if some innocents die along it, whatever, they would be pawn, food or playthings to other monsters anyway.

Revenge against Amical for killing people you didn't even know and which you were willing to kill to survive is petty and dumb.

You have to stop thinking about the past and plan your future. Getting someone with power, wisdom and connections as Amical on your side is a much better deal to fight the darkness.

If he proves an obstacle to your agenda, THEN you backstab him.

And the seedlings really NEED to understand that a cabal is essential for a mage continuing existence, there is too little cooperation amongst them.

@Kamikaze: Maybe they aren't in a race to see who can hit 0 Morality first. Nobody can just toss their ethics over their shoulder in the blink of an eye. Not unless they're playing a murderhobo and that doesn't make for a fun game ever.
