The tension is exciting. I can't tell who will win, but I don't want to stop reading.

@Arukoir: Thanks! My personal challenge was to make a realistic/accurate chess match that would still be exciting to people even if they don't know much about chess. Hopefully I can keep that up!

@ChibiSilverWings: You are definitely succeeding. I haven't played chess in over a decade and I'm burning through these updates so fast I have to read them two or three times.

Power-reading webcomics is never a good idea, but when you're excited...

@ChibiSilverWings You're doing great! And the change in Amical's expression says a lot as well.

I have to wonder if being thirsty might be due to blood loss.

Question though, as I can't properly tell. Are the pieces actually moving behind the speech blocks? If so, kudos to you guys for that level of detail.

@Don Quixotes: I didn't really think to ask him, but I should have asked Craig to add a frame without the box to show the board each time it changes. It does change though yes. Not every frame, but the game is legit.

I'll have him fix that in the next few days.

Hang in there, Billy! But tea is a VERY bad idea as Amical usually has his laced with tass and probably knows how to stretch his mana further than you do... and listen to this 9And the other versions) while you read guys..

OK, this is getting harder. Something strange is happening, made all the stranger by the fact that Amical must have made some obviously bad moves cause he's down two pawns. I suppose the essence of it must have been something along the lines of:
14. h4 Qf6
15. Qf3 Qe7
16. O-O-O f6
17. Bh3 Nb8
18. Nf1 Nd7
19. Kb1 Nb6
20. Qd3 Bd7
21. g5 Bxh3
22. Qxh3 Nxc4
23. Ne3 Nd6
24. f3 Rf7
25. gxf6 Rxf6
26. h5 Raf8
27. Rhf1 g5
28. Rde1 h6
29. Ng4 R6f7
30. Ne3 Qd7

Some odd moves in there, but it is blitz so who knows? Then the next logical thing is the queen trade
